We will study various technical aspects of wireless communications and network systems. SYLLABUS : (tentative) Communications: Spectrum allocation and characteristics, propagation characteristics, coding, frequency and time division multiplication. Network System: Cellular telephony, GSM system, TDMA system, CDMA system, 1G, 2G, 2.5G and 3G, network protocols, mobile IP, ad-hoc network. Applications: Browsing thro' wireless device, WAP IMPORTANT : Students are responsible for all instructions, exam announcements and assignments given during REGULAR CLASS hours. Feel free to ask questions in the class during regular office hours of the instructor/TA. If you can not meet during regular office hours then set an appointment. COURSE POLICY : Homework and projects are due at the beginning of the class (on due date).
