Computing Perspectives: New Introductory Courses for Non-Majors

The Computer Science Department at Georgetown University, starting Fall 2008, will offer several new courses that target non-computer science-majors (i.e. no prerequisites are required). This line of courses, called Computing Perspectives, will offer instruction in specific computer science and information technology areas that complement other disciplines in the sciences and humanities. These courses will fulfill the science requirements just as our traditional Introduction to Computer Science (COSC 010) course. The typical course will elaborate on popular computing applications to explain the underlying science concepts. These courses will feature special demonstrations and invited lectures from experts in the field.
